Chapter 15. Setting Him on Fire

His touch was gentle this time, but the fear and anxiety in me remained in my chest as my mind screamed danger. We were alone in this darkest part of the garden, and nobody would hear me if I screamed. But silly me. No one would come to help a hybrid like me, even if their Alpha ripped me into pieces. I bit my lower lip, and my tears glistened from the corner of my eyes.

"Please don't hurt me," I pleaded like a small kitten.

But Alpha-Edison became more aggressive. He pulled me closer to him, and our bodies pressed together as I heard the loud beating of our hearts. Our breaths were warm and fast. Being so close to Alpha Edison, being in his arms—smelling him and staring at his handsome face—I didn’t think I could make it into three days without yielding to his desires and surrendering my purity to him.

“Give me a reason why I would do that, Claire,” he rasped as he pushed the strands of hair away from my terrified face, “besides the fact that you are a hybrid.”
