Claire's POV

I let out a big sigh. "Well, it turns out that Hunter is my soul mate." I answered while slightly pulling down my shirt to show Hunter's mark. I said in a low voice, "And we have mated," because I knew he would scold me.

Cain just stood there and looked at me with a look of shock on his face. "Are you kidding, right?" He asked in disbelief.

I looked in his direction, but I didn't face him. "Does it look like I'm joking?" I said something and took a deep breath. I knew he would find it hard to believe this, but the proof was there.

Cain's nose slightly flared, and his face got harder as he stared at me. "Did he try to force you?" He asked with his teeth clenched.

I nodded my head. "No, he didn't force me to do it, Cain." I'm sure of what I say. Since I moved here, I had gotten to know a different Hunter than the one my brother knew.

Cain's eyebrows furrowed and his eyes got smaller as he looked at me. "Is he mean to you?"
