Chapter 32
Viktor placed the bowl of porridge in front of Kattie, and the steam rising from the bowl made her feel more comfortable in the cold weather. Next to her ear, Viktor’s voice sounded again.
“Finish this bowl of porridge; I’ll get your medicine for you.”
Kattie obediently finished her porridge. Without prompting, she reached out to grab the still-hot cup of milk, cupping her hands around the mug and rolling it back and forth to find warmth. She gently blew on it a few times before bringing it to her mouth, taking a small sip. The warm liquid flowed into her body, making her feel even warmer.
When Viktor returned, he couldn’t help but be surprised and praised her.
“So quick to finish. Impressive.”
Kattie didn’t speak; she just smiled at him and continued to drink her milk.
