Liam
The infirmary smelled of antiseptic and iron. My boots struck the tiled floor harder than I meant them to, anger still roaring in my chest from the fight with Alaria earlier. I didn’t want her here. I didn’t want her seeing me like this, unraveling. And they didn't want to end this with another fight, and I knew that this was going to happen. Judging by where things were going between us, I knew that it was not going to end well.
But she followed anyway.

“Liam,” her voice was sharp, almost a growl. “You are not walking me out of this one. If you think I’m just going to stand by while you keep ignoring me, you’re wrong. I’ve had enough. I understand that Kai waking up is important, but you cannot just take advantage of that and treat me like I am nothing.”
