The infirmary smelled of antiseptic and iron. My boots struck the tiled floor harder than I meant them to, anger still roaring in my chest from the fight with Alaria earlier. I didn’t want her here. I didn’t want her seeing me like this, unraveling. And they didn't want to end this with another fight, and I knew that this was going to happen.
