Chapter 45. The Revenge

Celeste’s POV

Liam.

Liam was here, to save me.

I had been fading in and out of consciousness, I could feel my body starting to shut down. And what for, jealousy? All because I looked like someone my Step-mother despised. What a waste of a life.

I blacked out again.

Coming back to consciousness I noticed Evelyn had removed her hand from my body, blood poured from the wound and I began to panic. It was then I noticed the wolf by my side.

Liam’s wolf. How beautiful he was with his golden silk fur, and as I pushed my fingers through the warmth of his coat I felt instant comfort. Much like how Liam made me feel in his human form. Wanted and needed, like I was meant to be in his arms, it felt right.

“Thank you Liam,” I choked, it was the least I could do to show my appreciation.

As the wolf left my side, I felt myself falling away again. The sounds of Evelyn’s screeching and the snarling of the wolf were like white noise to me now. I
