Chapter 6. He’s Dangerous

Celeste’s POV

I couldn’t believe it. Nathaniel, my stepbrother, was here! I couldn’t even remember the last time I had seen him.

“Great place you have, sis,” Nathaniel grinned as he studied my living room “You don’t seem to be doing too bad for yourself,” he dropped himself onto the sofa and I brought him over a coffee. Setting it down on the coffee table, which he had now rested his feet upon I smiled as I took a seat by his side. My own warm cup was a comfort in my hands as I cupped both hands around it for warmth.

“Thanks Nate,” I took a gentle sip of the coffee, the warm liquid a comfort to me “Turns out I didn’t need my family after all.”
