Chapter 12. It Hurts

Celeste’s POV

After Liam left my home I was seething. It was becoming ridiculous now how he failed to control his urges around me. Promises meant nothing to him, it seemed.

I wrapped myself in the Sherpa blanket, pulling it tighter around me and I shivered slightly. It hadn’t been cold outside, maybe it was the adrenaline wearing off. Releasing a strong sigh I decided what to do with the rest of the evening. My day was wasted in the hospital after being attacked by Amara. That wasn’t on the agenda for my day off at all!

Relaxing my mind, I opened myself up to Winter. Maybe I could talk to her to pass some time, but I could sense her pain too.

‘Winter?’ I called her name in my mind ‘Are you okay?’

‘Celeste,’ she replied, her soft voice sounding weak and breathless ‘It hurts, doesn’t it,’ she said, referring to the injury. We shared not only our emotions, but also our physical pain.
