Chapter 61. Home Sweet Home

Stepping into the mansion, I expected to feel the sensation of eeriness creep over me as the memories of this place were awoken inside me. To my surprise I felt no such sensation.

Since I had been here last, the entire atmosphere had changed to a positive energy. The walls were a lighter colour, rather than the dull Victorian greys and blacks that darkened the mood. Now I felt like I had stepped into Springtime. The decor consisted of yellow tones, lemons and pastels and a sweet scent filled the air. The detail which struck me the most though, was the lack of evidence of Evelyn’s presence. All the photos of her had been taken away, as well as Savannah. Neither of their portraits displayed on the walls any longer, as though they had been erased from existence.
