Chapter 67. The Marks of Evil

Liam’s POV

Waking next to Celeste at first felt like a dream. I must have been sleeping still, nothing this perfect would ever happen to me. I had to roll over to be sure this Celeste was real, and not part of my unconscious state.

My arm wrapped around her, and I gently pulled Celeste into me. Her slender body fit so neatly into the shape of my chest as I snuggled up behind her, and one of my hands dove under the bed covers, and slipped over the surface of her soft skin, tracing the shape of her body.

“Are you awake?” I asked in a whisper, before burying my lips into her hair, inhaling her sweet scent.

“I am now,” Celeste responded, a light giggle escaped her “You’re so warm,” she purred, pushing herself back into me.

This solidified the fact I was awake and this was part of my reality, I hadn’t felt this content in a long while, and hoped this moment lasted a lifetime.
