Mia POV

For the next few days, neither Lukas nor I talked to each other. He would come to check on Lukas every morning without so much as a hello.

Then one morning, he didn’t come.

I was feeding Elian when Kate came in, looking around the room.

“What the hell happened? The maids told me you sleep here now. Did you have a fight with Lukas?”

“We had a little misunderstanding”

“Is this about what I told him? I only did that because I was worried about you.” she quickly said defensively.

“I know. I’m not blaming you. Look, I know you might not believe me, but I saw that wolf again at the pack house, but before I could show Lukas he was gone. Then he got angry and ‘ordered’ me to stay away from the forest, calling me a witless blockhead.”
