Kate POV

It’s been days and there was still no luck finding Mia. I basically lived in the pack house, tending to Elian when the wet nurse wasn’t present.

Elian was a sweet pup but there was a sadness in his eyes, like he could feel the absence of his mother.

Lukas barely came out of his study, even when Elian’s cry threatened to tear the whole house down. Clearly, he was struggling.

We all were.

His actions inevitably affected the pack. Training schedules for the warriors had been disrupted, he didn’t attend any of the council meetings and the elders had begun to suspect that something was wrong.
