Mia POV

I sat across from Ethan at the dinner table while he stole occasional glances at me. I could tell something was on his mind.

“How did the fitting go?”

“It went well” I eked out a smile.

It didn’t. I lied.

I tried ten different wedding dresses and none was to my liking. I was exhausted and all I wanted was to get into my bed and fall into a deep sleep.

But I dare not.

It was only going to make him mad.

Ethan had refused to go. He said he had more important things to do and I understood him. He had a lot of burden to carry as Alpha and would not have time for something as measly as a dress fitting.

“I had invitations sent out for the engagement. Is there anyone you would want to invite?”

I shook my head. I had no family, no friends. He was all I had.

He nodded and paused. “There’s someone very important I forgot to invite”
