Chapter 23

Rina POV

I bit my fingers anxiously, pacing back and forth.

I had just received a picture of Mia and she was still very much alive. I was bummed to realize she didn’t take that stupid little pup of hers with her. I was hoping they won’t both die. Only then will Lukas have eyes for me alone.

Those morons I had sent assured me she was dead. Attached to the picture was a text that said,

‘I know what you did’ The sender definitely wanted to blackmail me. I could not seek help from anyone. My grandfather didn’t know about this and I wanted it to remain that way.

Lately, I had avoided Lukas as much as I could.

I had not seen him for the past few days but I knew he would be furious. He’ll probably come find me soon and if my plan worked, he wouldn’t be able to do anything to me but before that, I had to fix my current predicament.

After several minutes of doubt, I picked up my phone.

“Who are you and what do you want?”
