Chapter 22

Mia POV

I opened my eyes to a dark room. I could hardly see what was in front of me, however I noticed I wasn’t alone.

The atmosphere was filled with a stale smell that I almost puked. Dried blood stuck to my hair and I still felt a little dizzy. I didn’t know how much time had passed since the crash. I tried to move but I was tied up with chains.

My eyes became adjusted to the dark and I found out there was really someone on the other side of the room.

She hugged her knees closed to her chest, burying her face in it.

“Excuse me, can you tell me where I am?”

She looked up at me.

“Does that matter? You’re about to get sold” came her dead, flat voice.

My heart skipped a few beats. I already knew that was going to happen but hearing it again scared the shit out of me.

The door was thrown open and a burly man stepped inside, his face as hard as a rock.
