I was staring blankly at the ceiling when my eyes caught a figure by the side. My brows knitted into a frown as I turned to see Mira standing at the other side of the room, a small smile on her face.

I chuckled bitterly. “I must have really lost my powers, huh? I can’t feel your presence anymore”

“You lost your magic?” She asked, walking towards the bed

“Yes! When I needed it the most. I could only stand there and watch my mother die. Look at my face. Rina did this to me. You think I would have let her if I had my magic?”

“I’m so sorry about your parents. I felt it the moment Rosalind died”

“I don’t need your pity”

“But you can still see me”

“What does it matter? I can’t do anything”

“When you found out about your powers, you hated it and wanted it gone”

“It’s different now. It’s all I’ve got”

She cupped my face and examined it.

“Horrible, right? I know”
