Mia POV

I started the car and drove off without looking back. I gripped the wheel so tightly that my knuckles turned white.

By the time I arrived at the city, it was past midnight.

I stopped in front of a random bar and took off my cloak.

Inside the bar, the air was thick with the stench of alcohol and sweat.

I slip onto a stool at the counter.

“Give me the strongest drink you have” I didn’t care that I was pregnant. All I knew was, I needed a drink.

The bartender raised a brow.

“ Now!” He obliged.

I gulped the first shot. I winced, my face turning beet red as the liquid traveled down my throat.

When I got to the fifth shot, my mind became hazy.

I slammed the glass down.

“Another” I drawled

I barely noticed someone had arrived beside me.

“Is this seat taken?”
