Chapter 162
Lord Christopher’s POV
I had left the king’s side grudgingly but I had not looked back. I knew that if I displayed just the slightest bit of curiosity I could lose my head. As I continued in the opposite direction my eyes spotted someone I had not dreamed of seeing in a thousand years, not even in a million years had I hoped to set my eyes on her.
Standing in front of a stall was Tamar. She was not the Tamar that I had known many years back who always wore boyish clothes and cut her hair, she was wearing a dress that danced with the evening wind and her hair also seemed to join in on the dance. She was the Tamar in his fantasies.
“Tamar?” My voice carried the needed surprise but I could not say that I was not surprised to see her, I was convinced she had died in the attacks of Lida as the invasion had left no survivors.
She turned her head at the sound of my voice but I could not tell from her facial expression if she looked happy to see me or not.
