It was a pity I could not spend more time with Arielle. She had explained that things were somewhat complicated at the moment and Keenan had someone he called father. That did hurt me though; that my own son already had a father. I wondered if this was karma with a weird twist. Afterall, I was Thallus’s father, and yet he was not my son.

I liked the name.

It had a nice ring to it. It was also not a very common name although I would have liked it better if Arielle had not told me that the name was given to him by Keenan’s father. I was jealous of this man I had not met for sharing a bond with my child.

My jealousy also extended to Arielle but I had been pleased to know that their living arrangements did not involve sleeping together. But really who was I to be jealous?
