The new power coursed through my body, warmth radiating from my right side while my left side remained cold. I couldn't stop shaking. Even as Susan tried to calm me with her magic, her troubled gaze remained locked on me.

"What's going on?" Kai asked, his arm around my shoulder, my body pressed against his. My heart fluttered at his proximity, but I dismissed the feeling for now. "She seems to have a stronger power than we assumed," Susan stated, distancing herself from me.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You're not a typical hybrid witch who harbors two elements," Susan replied, rubbing the bridge of her nose. Apparently, my energy was causing her a headache. I glanced at Kai, who seemed unaffected. With his help, my trembling subsided, and I sat down. As I was held firmly in his grasp, Kai started talking to Xavier over the phone, oblivious to my blushing face. However, Susan wasn't.
