The following morning, I felt drained from managing the powers that Jennifer was coaching me to control. It surprised even her when I grasped the Light element relatively easily, especially since I'd struggled with the more combative elements.

Susan couldn't guide me in controlling dark magic, but she had thoughtfully left a detailed manual for me. I diligently followed the instructions, and it worked like a charm.

"Damn, you are good at this," Jennifer said with a hint of admiration.

"You're praising me too much. Don't give me a big head," I replied modestly, to which she sighed.

"Veronica and Sia would've been proud of the progress you've made in just three days of training," she said. I nodded in acknowledgment.

"I think my mother would be too. I'm glad I'm not weak and can stand up against those who mean harm. Even though I wanted to take revenge on Alpha Nesser for his actions, he's already dead," I admitted, my voice trailing
