Chapter 24. Haze

Adrianna’s POV

After I was done eating, someone came and cleared the plates.

Curled up on the couch with the beast beside me, Bianca stared at me. “What should we do?” she asked.

“Oh… I don’t know,” I whispered, my eyes darting around.

The room fell into silence as we both stayed quiet. The beast lay in my embrace while I stroked his fur.

“You know what, screw it. Let’s go out,” she said.

My eyes widened. “I don’t think we should do that,” I said. I was not different from a prisoner, and if I was seen outside, only the Goddess knew what they might do to me.

She smiled. “Don’t worry. I will take the blame. Moreover, we aren’t going outside the gate, just within the mansion,” she said, batting her lashes innocently at me.

I shifted uncomfortably as questions hung in my head. What did she mean? Or was this part of her scheme so they could punish me again?

“I don’t want to g—” before I could finish my statement, she cut me off
