Adrianna’s POV

Heat crept up my neck, knowing that he had kept Marcus outside for a while through their mindlink.

He did not even spare me a glance as he threw the book at me.

My hand caught the book, looking down at it, my eyes widened as humiliation clung to me like a second skin.

Kael’s POV

I strode to the couch. The sound of the door and Marcus’s footsteps echoed in the room.

I sat down with my hand placed on my head, my gaze fell on Marcus, who glanced outside the hallway before he closed the door.

Then he walked to where I was, “Greetings, Alpha,” Marcus said as he bowed slightly.

I nodded at him as I rubbed circles over my forehead. Staring ahead, the image of Adrianna’s lips stayed glued to my head.

I wondered how many things I could do with those moist lips of hers.

“Alpha, are you there?” I heard Marcus’s voice.

My gaze darted to him as I stared at him with a blank expression.<
