Adrianna’s POV
He rubbed his forehead as he stepped forward. “He received an anonymous message today, so he went to see what had happened,” he said in a low voice.
My breath caught in my throat. “Where is the letter, and what was it about?” I asked, staring at him.
However, he just shook his head. “I’m afraid I can’t reveal it unless you ask the Alpha yourself,” he said with a slumped shoulder.
My teeth caught my lower lip. I wasn’t blaming him. Things must have been confidential, but that still didn’t mean he should risk his life when there were other ways of solving the issue.
Shortly after, Binaca came in with the leaves. Her steps halted as she glanced at Marcus before shifting her eyes and coming to where I stood.
“I got the leaves,” she said, stuffing them into my arms.
I smiled at the quantity, enough for me to make my herbs. “Can you please stay and watch over him? I need to boil this,” I turned and said to Marcus.
