Chapter 103. Recovered
Adrianna’s POV
My fingers drifted up, brushing gently over the cheek on his forehead until they relaxed, and he fell asleep again.
A breath of relief tore through me. I sat back on the chair and massaged my temples. I sighed before I continued my reading.
I did not know when I dozed off with my head at the edge of the bed and his hand in mine.
I groaned, trying to feel his hand in mine, but I felt nothing. Instantly, my eyes fluttered up.
I blinked hard as my eyes fell on the bed, but there were no traces of anyone on it. My heart skipped as I stood up, breathing hard.
Was he not here? But he was here, right? I mean, I watched him overnight, or did I miss anything?
My hand pulled at my hair as panic shot through my brain, making my body tremble.
My knees weakened, but I shook my head rapidly in denial. This could not happen. I was about to dash out of the room to find him when I heard a voice that made me freeze.
