Maeve’s POV
Darkness enveloped us, and the violent wind raging through the room intensified, threatening to tear everything apart. I knew I was the one causing it all, yet I couldn’t find a way to stop. Seraphine was at my side, her face taut with worry. “Maeve, you have to calm down. Your unstable emotions are in control right now.”
“I’m trying, but I can’t, Seraphine!” I screamed over the howling wind. She grasped my hand and began to chant, but her words did nothing to dispel the encroaching blackness or halt the chaos.
