Chapter 7

Peter Uganda looked at them, his gaze shifting from Elizabeth to Julian, and from Julian to Elizabeth. There was amusement in his look, apparently greatly entertained by the misfortunes of younger people.

The raven-haired woman couldn't help but grit her teeth, irritated. This was the last thing she needed. Besides, there was the fact that Julian was observing her in the same mocking manner.

"Do you two know each other?" he asked, surprised. He didn't remember his pupil mentioning that he knew someone in Egypt. Elizabeth hurried to deny it.

"No, we've only met once, and we didn't part on the best terms," she replied, remembering the small incident that had occurred between them. Julian seemed willing to speak, but in the end, he nodded, signaling his agreement with what she said.

"Well, let me introduce you more formally then."

Peter didn't want to delve further into the matter, as he sensed tension between the young ones.
