Chapter 8
Elizabeth was walking through a corridor; the walls surrounding her were made of stone, and the floor she walked on was only sand. She felt somewhat suffocated because the tunnel was too narrow. The cold penetrated her bones; the place was damp and freezing. The walls were cracked and worn, but not a single ray of sunlight could penetrate them to provide warmth.
Something passed over her feet – a beetle. Liz shook it off before it could sting her, as she was barefoot, and she didn't know the effects of a sting from that creature. She continued cautiously, unsure of what she might find at the end.
She reached a door, made of gold and adorned with thousands of precious stones, but it was locked. She stared at the door with confusion, wondering how she was supposed to enter.
Something shiny on her neck caught her attention – the Ankh necklace. She took the jewel in her hands and brought it close to the door, which immediately opened. Liz entered carefully.
