Chapter 60
I’m not drunk at all. Cass glares at me as I grab her by one arm and Marcus by the other.
“Not drunk,” I agree. “But we thought maybe you’d like to ride in a limo.”
“Oh really?”
“It has a bar,” I remind her. “In case you want to keep on not getting drunk.”
Her eyes narrow, but she’s too exhausted to decide if I’m serious.
We exit the main entrance onto Sunset Boulevard, and I see Edward has pulled the limo up by the valet. We guide Cass down the six steps and across the wide sidewalk. A crowd waits behind the red rope, impatient to get into this famously fashionable spot.
We walk slowly for Cass’s sake, and when the first flash pops, I realize we’ve been recognized. Phones lift all around us. A quick burst of light makes me feel like we’re heading to a premiere instead of home to tend our drunk friend.
