I don’t feel like playing hide-and-seek at all.
There’s a key box built into the wall, and I enter the code to get the keys to a yellow Mustang. I run to it, start it, and smile at the purr of the engine as I back out. It’s far more responsive than my five-year-old Nissan, and I expect it to be quick enough to catch Marcus.
He can’t really gun it until he’s out of the airport, but I’m determined to bend the rules. I hope he hasn’t left the compound yet, because I would never find him on city streets. He hasn’t been gone that long, has he?
There’s only one road that winds through this section of the airport Dermont International manages, and I’m sure Marcus takes it. But I know a cut-through—the service road behind the Dermont hangars—and with luck I can catch him before he reaches Hangar C, where the main road and the service road meet.
