Chapter 59. Weight off Shoulders
“About that,” I started speaking hesitantly, “I told you that we won't divorce each other, so it wouldn't be appropriate for us to live separately anymore.” The thought of living away from Aaron was terrifying now.
“You want to come back to me permanently?” His eyes lit up momentarily, giving me a tingly feeling, before he covered it with a neutral expression.
“Unless you want to bring someone else home,” I feigned.
“Of course not. Only you have the right. It's your home too, after all.”
I glanced in his way. There was a tiny, barely visible, excited and ardent smile on his face, which made a big one form on my face. However, the sign of fatigue on his face didn't escape my sight.
“You can rest your head on my lap,” I offered.
Aaron got startled and looked at me as if I had grown ten heads. “What? No. I'm not a little kid,” he declined immediately.
“Why, is little baby Aaron feeling shy?” I cooed.
