Chapter 61. Self-Control
While having dinner later at night, Aaron was eating quietly, not seeming as mad as before. So, I tried poking his uninjured arm.
“What?” he snapped, finally getting irritated with my constant poking.
“I was just checking how mad you were,” I mumbled innocently. He scoffed and continued eating. “You're not going to the office tomorrow, right?”
“No, I have to. I have already skipped too much work. I can't leave my work any longer,” he stated, and I nodded.
“But don't overexert yourself. Take painkillers if your wound hurts and don't forget to take your medicine after lunch. Never mind, I will give you a call to remind you—”
“What are you, my mom?” He frowned.
I gave him a teasing look and said, “Every boy's dream is to get a girl like his mother who would love him unconditionally. It seems true.”
“That's bullshit. I wasn't looking for my mom when I fell in love with you,” he scoffed.
