Lyle grinned and shook his head.
“I’m glad that you think any of this is funny,” I said, with all the sarcasm I could muster.
“No, just… he didn’t come after me after knowing what happened. What kind of a husband is that? He doesn’t even protect your marriage as how it should be protected.
“He didn’t because I told him not to,” I said. Which was the truth.
But that made me think. If I didn’t tell Dylan to just let it go and we should just move forward with this, what would he do? Will he cause a scene that will jeopardize our marriage? Will he cause something to announce to my family that I had been unfaithful to our vows? I also don’t think so. Dylan’s just not like that.
“Is that why you’re planning to sleep someplace else tonight?”
