Chapter 75. Coffee Maker
DYLAN
When Ashlene and I continued to avoid each other’s presence in the house, I felt nothing but like a ghost. I walk around the room, I eat in the kitchen, I take a shower and go to work and come home to no greeting or anything.
Instead, I just imagined that all of those things would stop happening. I would kill to go back to the countryside, where our life may be simple, but it was uncomplicated. We could always make it work. Here, everything’s effortful. It should be done and approached with much diligence.
“You’re a loser.”
What Anton said kept on repeating in my head. Something about that night has never been the same. I had taken that seriously… and I became someone else.
Now, we were in the law office, and every one of us were called for a meeting. The lawyers, the assistants and the staff. We were in one room, in a rectangular table with Seth on its head. Anton was on his right, and the three of us (Miggy, Nicho and me) were on the left side.
