Chapter 79. To Continue or to Give Up

I asked for a leave from work today. Seth didn’t want to approve it since it’s one of the busy days of the week but then, I told him I have to consider the annulment and I needed time to think. Which I cannot do if I’m in the office.

Something about what I said changed his mind. However, he told me he would deduct a day’s salary for my absence. I only nodded. Whatever he wishes.

I had nowhere else in mind but to visit the old coffee shop where I worked. The exact coffee shop where I met my wife. Anywhere would do. Just not in the Ridley house.

I stayed in my room until 9 in the morning, making sure I won’t bump with anyone else in the house. The lawyers would be in the office, Ashlene usually wakes up at 10 am. Perhaps due to mental exhaustion from the night before. Who knows? Maybe worse.
