“What is this?” My opponent asked with heavy breaths as he tried to mask his fear. “This wasn’t part of the plan, sir. I want out. Now!”
“What plan?” I asked, barely interested in his words. I had already removed his helmet and could see the horror in his widened brown orbs. The relief I’d felt upon seeing that it truly was not Zik was quickly replaced by a familiar, gnawing hunger.
A man’s neck had never looked so inviting.
“The boy told me I would not be killed,” he stammered, eyes darting around wildly.
“Oh, the boy?” I hummed, letting out a wicked smile. “What boy?”
“The lanky one with a fluffy hair. He works for you. He is your squire…” His neck muscles stiffened and released as he spoke, stimulating my hunger pangs even more. “H—his name is Kent,” he stammered.
“I see. I know Kent.” I said in almost a growl.
