Chapter 45. Wildflowers

Madeline's POV

"What were you thinking?!" Victor screamed out of his lungs in front of me and even dropped his hand on the table. "Why would you run away from the cabin, Madeline? What if Uriel did not find you, huh?"

I only looked at the kitchen cabinet as Victor was losing his cool while pacing back and forth. He was mixed mad and worried as I got lost in the forest near the village. Uriel was the one who saved me from my nightmare with the witch queen. 

 "I can't bear to lose you. Your life here is precious. What if you die in this timeline? Our hard-work would be all useless and you will never return to our real time!" Victor added while his chest was heaving in and out rapidly.

I merely bowed my head and shut my eyes in guilt. "I am really sorry, Victor," I said. "I just thought that Uriel was in danger. I saw his bloody head on the witch's hand. I am really sorry."
