Chapter 49. The Treehouse
Madeline's POV
Just like we had planned, we left the cabin because the witch queen had already located us. It would be dangerous to stay any longer. We have to cross the Dark Diver in the dark. I just hope we can find some place we can shelter ourselves when we get to the Dark River.
"How much are these horses? And we even get one by one?" I asked in amusement.
Victor only chuckled. "You should commend the good face of Uriel. He easily swayed a woman in the market for us to get free horses, countess," he said and looked at the alpha behind me.
I looked at Uriel who was arching his eyebrow at me while fixing the reins of the horse he got. A while ago, they went to the market to shop for necessities as I prepared everything for our journey in the cabin. The next thing I knew, they were already bringing horses back. Uriel held a white and a brown one; while Victor had a grey one.
Uriel stepped forward to give me the reins of the white one.
