Chapter 46. Morning Training

Madeline's POV

To unwind from everything that has happened yesterday, I decided to go outside the cabin early in the morning. Even if the sun was still not rising, I have already changed clothes. Yesterday, I was wearing a dress from Countess Marissa, but because I was not comfortable in the first place, I borrowed one of the combat clothes from Victor. 

I cleaned up my sword as I surveyed my eyes around the backyard where the end is a dark forest. It was the same forest where the witch queen kidnapped me. I know she is only watching us and is waiting for the right time to attack again. 

Every danger in the world is only lurking, that is why I am always vigilant to what could possibly happen. 

I sighed, as I remember how Victor was angry because of my recklessness. He was right, though. I should have been more careful. It was just out of the instinct, and I was afraid that Uriel would be in danger.
