Madeline’s POV
I had to avoid his eye contact because it was affecting me so much. I don’t know, but the more he teases me, the more I get so shy for no reason. I am not feeling well, and yet here I am, flirting jokingly with an annoying mate of mine.
“Will you just stop? My head hurts the more you talk,” I reasoned out, but I knew that it was only an alibi to escape embarrassment.
But when I gazed at him, his face slowly became serious. He then removed his annoying grin and observed me discreetly.
“Sorry. I almost forgot that you are hurt. Do you want anything? Are you hungry?” he asked in a worried tone and his face disoriented.
“Uhh, no,” I said and shook my head. “I am just glad that we are… safe together in here.” I then looked around. “But where is Victor? Is he outside the room?”
