Chapter 12. She’ll Be Back
Third-Person POV
Hannah woke up to the sound of yelling. It took a moment for her to realize it was not a dream. She was not a child back at that place, waking up to the yelling of those people.
No, she was an adult in her apartment. And that voice was her roommate’s. She sat up in alertness, and immediately, her eyes met the sight of Riley tossing her clothes into a bag.
“Riley, what are you doing?” she asked in her usual tiny voice as she jumped out of bed.
Riley took a pause and assessed her roommate. Taking in the sight of her innocent face that had her short.
“What does it look like I’m doing, Hannah? I’m packing your shit.”
“Why?” Hannah asked.
Riley stared at her roommate in utter shock. “Christ! Hannah, you really are clueless. It’s so annoying.”
This was the problem she had with the meek girl from day one. Pretty but so innocent, like some untainted flower.
But that sort of image could fetch good money if used rig
