Chapter 19. New Job

Third-Person POV

After exchanging pleasantries with her new roommates, Katie pulled her towards a bunk bed.

“You’re lucky we’re buckmates. You’ll have to take the upper one, though. The rules say those in later trimester get the down.”

She climbed on with ease while listening to Katie, who, as usual, was never short of words.

“There’s a lot to complain about, but the worst is asking us to move out after childbirth. That’s ridiculous. Don’t you agree?” Katie complained.

Her reply was quick and honest. “I’m just grateful I have a place to lay my head.”

“They’ve gotten you a job?” Katie asked, bashing straight towards Hannah.

“Yes,” Hannah answered, not able to hide the excitement in her tone.

Katie couldn’t believe her roommate’s luck. She’d gotten up in just two days of her arrival. “Where?”

“It’s a convenience store, just a few blocks from here,” Hannah almost squealed as she spoke.
