Chapter 32. A Mannerless Fool
Liam’s POV
I hate hospitals.
The sight of it, the smell of it, the sound of groaning sick people. I haven’t set foot in a hospital for years, not even when I’m sick or seriously injured; that’s how much I hate it.
A group of doctors wheeled an unconscious boy with multiple tubes past me; the parents followed behind with bloodshot eyes from crying.
I’ll say it again. I hate hospitals.
I found the room where Kyle and Clint were standing guard by the door. We exchanged a nod before I walked into the room.
This was a stupid idea. She could have just let her lawyers do this. That’s what rich people do anyway.
The way she spoke to the boy with compassion rubbed me in a way I didn’t expect. She could have easily threatened him, begged him, and told him he had no choice but to accept her mouth-watering offer. Instead, she begged.
