Chapter 8. The Bid

Lena’s POV

“One million dollars,” Alpha Lucas said beside me and my eyes widened in shock. I already told him I didn’t want it and we agreed that it was not valuable, so what the hell was he doing?

“Alpha Lucas, what are you doing?” I whispered to him.

He turned to me with a smirk. “Just watch.”

“One million going 1,” the announcer started and I heard Trevor cursing under his breath because he was just a few seats away from Lucas and I. “One million going 2.”

I turned around to look at Trevor who was glaring at Lucas from behind. I could tell that Lucas could sense because he chuckled quietly.

Trevor raised his number and shouted, “One million and five hundred.”

Everyone gasped in unison and he leaned into his seat with a smug look, believing he had won. Alina smiled brightly behind him and raised her shoulders.

‘He must be getting the necklace for her. Bastard.’ my wolf cursed in my head.
