Chapter 128. My Wife Is a Liar!
The fact that he was no longer in the party tent spelled trouble. And when his eyes ran down the length of my body, I knew we would be ending another night with a fight.
His brows came together at the sight of my black dress, and he took long strides towards me.
“Where have you been? I heard gunshots.” He clutched my elbow, hurrying me forward, so I was forced to skip beside him as his guards converged protectively around us, something they never did.
“I did not hear it.”
“What?”
His fleet of cars were speeding up the driveway towards us now, as more fireworks boomed in the sky, mixed with the music from the party tent, creating a cacophony which spurred everyone into animated movements.
“I went up to fix my lipstick in my old bedroom, and somehow I napped,” I said, panting and skipping till we stopped by his car.
