I had to explain. I couldn't plan to involve them in this plan that might get us all killed without telling them exactly what they were risking their necks for.

I glanced at the door, and brought my voice down even though the offices here were sound-proof.

“You've probably never heard this before, but there’s a file dubbed Rosetta that has been floating around since the seventies,” I said, looking between the both of them, “All Quiver’s products came from there. I thought it was my father’s but recently discovered it belonged to my girl’s grandpappy.”

“Then give it to her.” Axel frowned, and Sean gave him the stink eye for jumping to conclusions.

“Is that why you need the Fed’s bitch?” Axel asked, and I gave him a nod.

“The Feds aren’t going to give it up easily. They bought it off Dean after my father died.” I paused. “He really didn’t have an option anyway. They were going to take it regardless.”
