Chapter 276. Unconscious

When I opened my eyes, the car was thick with smoke while the dogs tried to beat the door open. 

“Mr Fletcher, Mr Fletcher,” Chris called when I began to cough in the suffocating smoke, my mind hesitantly drifting from my teenage world of bosomy girls with maddening scents, and starry-eyed boys who had fallen in love without knowing it.

“Olivia.” I gasped suddenly.

I could see nothing from this point, with my back to the roof of the car, my head suspended midair, barely supported by the seatbelt wrapped around my torso.

“The car,” I called out, “Fire…the car.” 

My words were incoherent, but that was the quickest way my mind could think to get them out.

However, Chris picked it up immediately, screaming out orders while I tried to move, even though I knew it was best to remain still till the ambulance showed up.
