Chapter 39. Out of Danger

A figure inside the van rolled over and eventually hit the flooring, inadvertently waking the person up. The woman was Mila. 

Mila stared blankly ahead and softly hit her head with her hand to clear her mind. 

'What happened? Where am I? Where's Rose? Weren't we hiding in the cabinet?'

The blinding light stung her eyes as she looked around. She was inside a parked car, and... and she was the only person inside! 

‘Why am I the only one here? Where is Rose? How about Edward?’

Mila sidled up to the window and peeked at the outside. It was dark on the other side of the vehicle, and the other side was bright because of the sunlight. 

Her stomach churned in panic as she realized she might have been kidnapped. 

'Did someone kidnap me? Are they going to kill me?'

‘No! No!’ Mila shook her head to calm herself and not to think negatively, but she couldn't do it. She needs to find Rose and Edward.

'I must find them!
