Chapter 52
Fallon’s POV
My stomach grumbled, reminding me that I had skipped breakfast. And if I didn’t drag myself out of bed, I would also be missing lunch.
Wouldn’t our lives be so much easier in this castle if we had our meals in our rooms? There wouldn’t be a need to take walks to the dining hall and sit at long tables enduring the loud talks and noises from the lovers.
I finally dragged myself out of bed and began the walk to the dining hall.
As expected, I was late, and everyone was well into lunch with a good portion of the meals gone.
My eyes scanned the hall for Ashley, hoping she at least saved some food for me. Surprisingly, her bright red hair was nowhere in sight.
I settled into one of the tables, exchanged amicable acknowledgments, and helped myself to some food.
She still didn’t show up after my meal. I waved it off, believing she must have been absent because her master might have still needed her in his presence.
