Chapter 59
Darius’s POV
“Darius Salvatore, the ruthless one. You know that’s what they call you now.”
“I do not partake in the clan’s gossip. How could I possibly know?”
Nickolas eyed me with resentment. We were in my drawing room; neither of us had touched the glasses a maid had served.
“You’ve been scarce the past few days. I’ve been looking for you,” he added in a sharp tone.
Irritated by his presence, I said, “Yet here you are asking irrelevant questions when you’ve finally found me.”
His jaw tightened. “I wonder why someone who punished a weak human would be called a ruthless one. There’s nothing ruthless about you.”
As if I wasn’t aware of my crimes. As if I didn’t see her bloodied skin every second I blinked my eyes. For the sake of reputation, I put on a nonchalant attitude for all.
I sighed. “I’m not in the mood for your tantrums, Nickolas. Someone as old as you should not be jealous over flimsy things like punishing a servant.”
