Chapter 58
Fallon’s POV
Rain. My mind finally registered the sound penetrating my half consciousness.
It’s raining outside. This time my eyes snapped open and my senses awakened to know I wasn’t dreaming or imagining it.
For a second, I didn’t remember who I was or where I was. Things changed as the familiar room dug up memories, enough to make me remember I was Fallon Makler. I stirred and finally sat, fully awake.
Before I could think of anything else, memories of sharp unbearable pains repeatedly spreading through my back hit me. Everything came back. Darius’s cold face as he gave my sentence, the crowd chanting for my punishment, me repeatedly losing consciousness until the darkness claimed me for good.
Oddly, I didn’t feel a thing where my back should have been sore with pain. I reached underneath my dress—no pain, no scar.
How is that possible? How did I get into a fresh dress? And most importantly, how long have I been out?
